My first story: The little boy's first glasses and his excitement

This is my first story. I am tired now so itll be fairly short. My story will just serve as an example how you can write your own.

There was this young boy squinting and struggling to read the board. His parents took him to the optometrist to get his vision checked. The young boy was a little nervous as he was led alone into the dimly lit room. The optometrist was a kind old man with a white beard and rather thick specs. Seems like many of their kind themselves are myopes so they have first hand experience what myopia is.

Ok kid, I will have you read the 20/50 line that is being projected on the mirror. The doctor knew that if he could read the 20/50 line he didnt need glasses, else he did. The boy stared blankly at the mirror and said "ok show me some letters" The doctor figured he couldnt see any so he turned the knob on the projector twice and the 20/70 line was projected on the mirror. He said I am now showing you letters that are 40% larger. The kid commented that there was nothing but the mirror itself. The doctor turned the knob twice and now the 20/100 line was being shown. The kid said he now can see something but its so vauge he cant identify it. At the 20/200 line he finally said "M" "W" after staring hard at the very faint tumbling E letters(E, M, W, 3 are what they look like in those 4 positions)The doctor said hmmmmm you are barely 20/200 this means you probably have a good -3 diopters.

Ok I will slide the pororaptor, please look in and I will slide minus lenses to determine your pescription. The old man started at -2 because he figured someone whos 20/200 must be worse than that and -2 was a good starting point. OMG exclaimed the boy the "M" and "W" are razor sharp, this is just crazy! He was grinning. The old doctor smiled and said perhaps we can do better! I will show you the 20/100 line and lets see if you can read it this time. The boy read the 3 letters without haste. "Excellent, Excellent" onwards to 20/70! Those too were read with a little hesisation. The doc moved on to the 20/60 line and the boy really paused and stared to read each letter but passed.

At the 20/50 line he said "I can see something but its too small to make out."
The doc said dont worry ill add another -.5 diopters and perhaps you will! He indeed did "wow! I cant believe how im seeing such tiny letters!" The 20/50 line is only .85" large so this is pretty good vision, with or without correction. "I will now make them even tinier, this is the 20/40 line" You guys know that 20/40 is the legal standard for driving and many people fail this. The letters are just over 2/3 inch large and at a distance of 20 feet, you need sharp vision to see them.

The kid read the letters, missing just one. Next up was the 20/30 line measuring at about half inch. The old doctor exclaimed this is getting close to perfect vision and that those letters are quite tiny and that many people have a hard time or cant read them without or with correction. The kid exclaimed "you are right, I cant see them!" "Maybe you will, I am gonna dial in another minus half, you will be getting a total of -3 diopters.

As soon as the pororaptor clicked again the kid's face just lit up and said "wow o wow" I can read every one of those letters! They sure are tiny but they are O' so crisp! "I didnt have too much difficulty reading every one of them" At this point the optometrist was getting supprised himself! "I am gonna make them even smaller now. Not many people will be able to see that line"

Click! as he turned the knob and the 20/25 line came in view. Keep in mind this is near perfect vision and represents a very high level of vision. "hmmmmm they all kinda look like dots to me" "I know, I cant even see the 20/30 myself" said the old doc. "I think the one on the left is an L" "yup thats right! go on" hmmmmmm said the little human, one dot looks rounder than the rest, id say this ones an O to the far right. "YUP!" hmmmm now I see another dot almost as round so I recon its a "D" yup thats it! said the optometrist. When all was done, he was barely able to make out three of the 20/25 line.

Your corrected vision is 20/30+, I have given you more than -3 diopters which didnt help at all so your pescription is -3 for 20/30+ vision. I tried the astigmistim and one of your eyes has 1/4 diopter of it which didnt gain you any lines but you said it somehow made the existing line "better"

The boy was dismissed and the next day his parents drove him. Excited he picked his new glasses and put them on. His jaw dropped when he saw how clear everything was. The entire day was spent with him looking at everything there was, wondering what he was missing.

The end I guess. Kinda boring but its my first story lol
